BLUESTONE FLOoRING TILES

The surface of this material is soft and dimpled - a bit like leather. The dimpling is created by a light sandblasting treatment that has been applied prior to the brushing. Bluestone in sawn or sandblasted and brushed form is a surface favoured by councils because the colour does not show dirt which keeps maintenance costs down. It also has low water absorption properties so the risk of staining is relatively low. It has has high flexural strength which shows it is tough and finally, it has good traction when wet so it is safe with a low risk of slipping.

 It is a mid grey in colour; the brushed bluestone below is dark grey in colour.

SUITABILITY & USES

 Bellambi bluestone in brushed form is best suited to indoors or under cover areas (verandahs, outdoor rooms, observatories etc). The lightly sandblasted bluestone provides a tactile surface that makes it suitable for outdoor use. Whilst it would look beautiful around pools, it would be quite slippery when wet and because of its dark colour, Bellambi brushed Bluestone will absorb heat and may get hot if exposed to the sun, as it would be if used around pools.
